RE: Repeat after me: Notes is NOT an Outlook competitor (WAS: The Client Notes is critiqued by somes persons because it says it's good for the administrator and no the client , Compare Outlook from Notes .....) ~Holly Umlugenli 27.Jan.04 03:33 PM a Web browser Notes Client 6.5Windows XP
The Document Properties / Database Properties are there because Notes has more advanced features than Outlook. These features use those settings.
Therefore, access to this information, in most cases, **IS** valid in the Notes world. Because Outlook cannot do most of what the Lotus Notes client does, it does not have these features available to users.
In summary, Outlook has less capability than Notes, and therefore will have less options for users. Similarly, Notes has more capability than Outlook and therefore will have more features.
Comparing a product with less features to one with more features and then complaining that the one with more features should have less features otherwise it isn't "as good" is highly illogicial. Yet, this is exactly what you are doing.
